Houston has an annual tradition of holding a Marine Corp birthday formation on the lawn of City Hall. This joint formation includes Marine Corps Recruiting Station Houston and First Battalion, Twenty-Third Marines Lonestar Battalion.  This year, these local Marine Corps units will be joined by the Marines visiting for Fleet Week Houston.
